Same Day Dining Reservations..

Anyone had luck with this?

Specifically in MK? In an effort to not over schedule us I have not booked any dining at the park on our MK days, besides an 8:05am BOG reservation.

I'm thinking that if we really need a TS meal that we may be able to find one last minute. Am I crazy for thinking that?

You are not crazy, just very hopeful.
I keep checking the day I'm looking for, for any reservation times. That lets me know if there is a ghost of a chance, or if it is gone with the wind. Good luck, but always have a Plan B, just in case.

For two not usually a problem, for four it can be challenging.

I've done it multiple times...you probably won't score Cindy's or BOG but there will be options unless you are trying to go on a major holiday.
I've done with groups of 3 or higher.

Luck and dont forget that Cosmic Rays and the Plaza are always availble so you can get really stuffed really quick.

I've done with groups of 3 or higher.

Party of 2, either for 11/27 11/30 or 12/4. We are doing MVMCP on 11/29 and I have garden view tea room reservations beforehand. Planning on just snacking around during MVMCP.

I am debating Early Morning Magic for 11/27. So if I do that and we do BOG for lunch then I'm good that day.

On the 30th and 4th I would be fine with Skipper's Canteen or something. We waited 45 minutes for our Crystal Palace dinner reservation last time, trying to avoid that again.

I'm not, unless the crowds aren't bad.. but I'm willing to eat at a counter service restaurant.

We are staying at GF and I don't even think we will have time to take a mid day break like we did last year at Poly...we don't have any full days this time.
Here's our MK schedule
11/25-11/26 Hang out at resort watch Wishes and EWP (not really MK days but will be watching the fireworks)
11/27- 8am-7pm.
11/29-MVMCP
11/30- 7:30pm-1am
12/4-9am-2pm.
The only day where we could possible leave would be 11/27, do you think the day is too short for a break?

We were able to get same days ressies the last few trips. Granted it was never during Thanksgiving or Christmas, and it didn't matter to us where it was...we're not picky at all...we'll eat anything lol. So it can be done, just keep an open mind

I wish we could do HS EMM!! I really wanted it, but it's only offered on Saturdays. We aren't doing any parks on either Saturday that we are there.

I'm just going to give my schedule/schedule options here and please anyone feel free to chime in and tell me if I have mistakes-

11/25 Check in. Narcoossee's dinner.
11/26 Resort day. Cabana at Beach Pool, order appetizers to snack on during out Football party. O-H!!!! QS dinner. Early to bed. (I have 1900 PF reserved for this day, but it conflicts with the Cabana time so probably will cancel)

11/27 MK EMM 7:30am and 1:15 BOG lunch OR BOG 8:05am breakfast and find same day lunch ressie. Dinner we will order take out from GF Cafe and eat in room. Early to bed.

11/28 Option 1- Room Service Breakfast. Leave for HS @ 7:40am to sign up for JTA. Sci Fi (light) Lunch 3:10pm JBJB Dessert Party 5:30pm
Option 2- (Just snagged this one!!) H&V breakfast 8:15am Sci Fi Light Lunch JBJB Dessert Party
I really need to fit in Backlot Express for the Vader Chicken and Waffles!! Even if we jut split them. My son is out of the Disney Jr phase, so even though I just got that one I should probably cancel now. Will a ppo breakfast give us an advantage for JTA signups?

11/29 Room Service Continental Breakfast. 9:15am Pirate Adventure Cruise (I'll walk to Poly and read in a hammock during this time, hopefully find an adult breakfast beverage somewhere ). 12:35 Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room. 3pm QS or room service dinner. MVMCP 4pm-12am snack during party.

11/30 SLEEP IN. Late Breakfast at GF Cafe or Kona Cafe. Chef Mickey 1pm Brunch (leaning towards cancelling today). Head to MK around 7-7:30 til 1am.

12/1 (checkout/switch to WL day) SLEEP IN. (cereal breakfast brought from home in room) Head to Epcot around 10am. Garden Grill Candlelight Processional Lunch package 12:45pm. Dinner-snack around WS.

12/2 SLEEP IN. 9:45am Ohana Breakfast. Head to AK after. Lunch QS at Harambe Market. Possibly Disney Springs after AK.

12/3 SLEEP IN. Resort Day. Roaring Fork breakfast. Rent bikes to FW. Mini Golf. 8:45pm Whispering Canyon Dinner.

12/4 (Checkout Day) Room Service Breakfast. Head to MK around 8:45-9am. No dining reservations. Leave MK @ 2:30. ME picks us up at 4pm from WL.

Please Critique my schedule anywhere it needs it!!! Do I really need Chef Mickey and H&V? Or do I keep H&V and cancel Sci Fi?

I don't think it's crazy. In fact, thanks to the charges for cancellations less than 24 hours out (which causes a lot of people to cancel reservations just before that 24-hours mark), you're more likely to find an ADR 1 day out than you are 1 week or 1 month out. If you're not picky about where you eat, there's no harm in waiting until the day before or even attempting a walk-up the day of.

Your trip sounds amazing! I can't wait to see how it all goes. Butttt, with the 30th, after a late breakfast are u really going to be ready for a buffet so soon after? You might be right in wanting to cancel.
