Safety Tats

I'm getting ready to order some Safety Tats for the kids. They will have my cell # on them and a QR code. On the QR code, I'll obviously put name, parents, name alt cell #. Would putting our resort or instructions to go to guest services be helpful?

Maybe put something like My parents can be reached at # and #. Please take me to a Cast member while they are being reached.

I wouldn't put your resort or much else because you don't want everyone to know where you are staying at. Also perhaps any cm is better than just guest services because if a lost child is taken to any CM they know exactly what to do in the situation and most know how to calm the child down and what to do. A stranger who might find you child in say the back of Frontierland may be pretty flustered themselves when approached by a lost child and make them even more stressed on the long walk up to GS.

I know there has never been a successful kidnapping at Disney but always remember you only want to give enough information to get you in the event your child is lost and not so much that someone could easily gain your child's trust. It is always better to tell you children who they are allowed to tell their names to. I don't have children of my own but babysit and have little nieces and nephews. I know we never put their names on anything because from the moment they can talk they know their names. At that point we teach them to only say their first name to strangers if they are lost and to wait for someone who is an employee or policeman/fireman/etc before they give more information. That way we know people won't just randomly come up to them and start talking to them by their name to try and gain their trust.

Thanks, that's really helpful!

In the event your child is lost, the following things will likely occur.

They will be calmed down by a CM (if needed) and asked their name and any information they can give (parents names, phone numbers, etc.). If they can provide a phone number then of course we'll attempt to call you via the managers cell phone (frontline only carry internal nextels). If you can't be reached or they don't know any information the CM will generally walk them around the immediate area to see if they see anyone they recognize. If that doesn't happen then they will generally be taken to guest relations.

That being said, the only thing you really need is your child's first name and as many phone numbers as your party will have with you on the trip. Beyond that, there isn't much else they would really need/use. Hope that helps!!
