So I'm at Disneyland today expecting to see the Rivers of America in a total state of tragedy, and to my pleasant surprise, I saw this:

A live band is playing on a fully-explorable Columbia. Even though it doesn't help the "dead" RoA, at least it's something other than two docked, defunct boats.

They did this exact thing seven or eight years ago when the river was closed for Pirates Lair construction.

The Columbia is a wonderful thing. It's an exact replica of the original Columbia, and if you've forgotten your 8th grade American History lessons, I will now send you all to Google to relearn why that ship was so important to American history and the reason why Walt and his construction boss Admiral Fowler chose it specifically for Disneyland.

So I am curious about the construction with my trip to Disneyland being at the end of April. Does this mean that the ROA will still be filled with water and the boats stationary, or will they eventually drain the whole thing and put up nasty construction walls?

I think they will keep half the river filled with water at least until they work on the Fantasmic fountains.
