Running App

Which app do you use. I am trying to find a good app that tells me, my time, pace, distance, and route. I would also like one where I can map out the best possible routes for my 5 year old and me, we are already 4 weeks late starting our training thanks to the bitter cold weather, and we would like to get started soon since this is also going to be our bonding time since I don't get to see him much due to school and my work.

My husband likes RunKeeper. It does everything you say you want in an app...he has an iPhone. :) I'm sure there's an Android version as well.

I used the Nike+ iphone app until I got my Garmin watch, and then was surprised by how much less accurate the app was than the watch. I hear the GPS function in the iphone 5s are much better than the 4, so maybe that's why.

@Maryssa* - agreed on the accuracy thing, I was using it on a 4 as well. If you are using an app make sure you have an adequate data plan for your running, when I started and was using my phone I was getting very close to going over on my data every month, that's the main reason for biting the bullet on the Garmin, it was cheaper than upgrading my data plan in the long run.

I use a Garmin app on my phone in conjunction with my Garmin Forerunner. The watch is definitely more accurate, but it is easier to see pace for each mile, elevation, map etc on the app. I used http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ to figure out my distance or plan my run before I got my forerunner.

I also use the gmap-pedometer site. I have the run tracker app on my iphone and most of the time its very accurate.
