RunDisney and DDP

If you book your room through RunDisney to get the race discount, can you get the DDP?

When I ran the Princess in 2011 I was told the DDP was not available with RunDisney, but I thought I'd check with you guys and see if anything had changed. We are considering running the ToT in October and we enjoy having the DDP.

I think most of the time, you can get better rates NOT booking through RunDisney. I haven't booked through them, but there have been a lot of complaints about RunDisney charging extra if there are more than one runner per room and in general being more expensive than deals that you can get through a regular travel agent or through Disney themselves. I have used and highly recommend Kingdom Consultants. They are a sponser of this board and always get you the best deal available. Even if you book and a better deal comes up that will save you money, they will automatically change your booking.

I hadn't thought about it that way, thanks Kristia! When I went for the Princess two years ago it was my first trip in over 20 years and I knew nothing about the possible discounts so the RunDisney prices looked good compared to what I could find on the Disney site. We will most likely book through Kindgom Konsultants this time.

I know that runDisney offers group rate room discounts coupled with discounted registration rates, so in general, booking the 2 together will save you money over booking them separately. I'd also double check pricing via the official runDisney Tour Operators too; in some cases they have extra perks such as park tickets, lanyards, and pins on top of the discounted rooms and registrations.

Your mileage (lol) may differ from race to race and from WDW vs Disneyland.

If you do the math and decide that the runDisney options aren't for you, I'd also highly recommend Kingdom Konsultants.

I don't think is is correct. runDisney travel options don't offer any discount registration rates for the races. Some of the 3rd party travel operators may have a lower package rate so the two parts seem less, but I have never seen, nor been offered any discounted registration rates through runDisney themselves.

Just to give a quick comparison on the room rates, for the ToT race this year, runDisney is quoting $110 base price per person for 2 nights for a value. This same value can is listed at $118 for a weekend night, or $98 for a weekday night for that time period. So possibly saving $8 off the room price. Caribbean Beach is $152 though runDisney, $191/$176 rack. Which is most likely why they highlight the 20% savings at CB and POR as they are actually a reasonable discount.
