Rumored Club 33 Expansion 2014: Jazz Club concept

Any of the DL park goers here see this as a possibilty? Does this rumor seem credible or is it something that's been on and off the table for years?

Somehow I just don't see them moving the entrance from where it is now. Unless they somehow move the french lift over there

The idea of adding space for their lectures sounds plausible. I could even see them abandoning the French lift if the expansion/refurbishment were significant enough.

But... I don't think they would EVER put a new entrance at the top of those stairs. Logistically, I just don't see how it could happen there. There's no discreet way to keep the riffraff off the stairs or balcony outside of the Club; members would be wading through a sea of humanity to get up to their reservations.

Sounds neat. But I don't know why you'd need to take out the Court of Angels for a new entrance. The entire second story of New Orleans Square is all inter-connected. You'd just need to redo the existing corridors and connecting terraces on the second story to get the whole thing connected.

Although, if the Jazz Club is actually the name for the new "walk-up" lounge a la' 1901 in DCA, then I suppose you'd want a separate entrance. But if it's all connected as just an expansion of the existing Club 33 concept, then no new entrance is required.

The Court of Angels wouldn't be taken out. The stairway would just be manned at the top. I think that more information should be available soon.

I also heard that the Trophy Room was going to be destroyed to become a larger kitchen.

While interesting, it doesn't matter to me. The chances of me eating in Club 33 are slim to none, and the chances of me becoming a member are zero.

I learned on my Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour that a Jazz Club had been planned for New Orleans Square, the blue steps in the back of the square were supposed to be the entrance steps. It would have been cool. Pleasure Island had a Jazz club for awhile in WDW and that was fun.

Do whatever the heck you want to the Club; I really don't care. I just hope that they don't mess too much with the areas that are currently open to everyone.

As someone who doesn't come to DLR all that much I would be very disappointed if they were to shut down that area. Absolutely great for pictures. I know that they don't come out and say that it would be shut down, but I tend to agree with what @Cosmic Commando says. It would become really difficult for them to stop the foot traffic from coming that way.
