In preparing to do one of my own (august), what are the rules of a trip report? lol:wave:

Pretty simple:

Tell us what you did, where you went and how much fun it was.

Pictures are always welcome.

You can throw in good and bad experiences and a special mention for any CMs that went out of their way to make the magic.

Actually, it's even simpler than that... There are no rules! We love anything you post related to your Disney experience...

Just a few more...

No posting about how you line-jumped, stood up on a ride, intentionally caused an e-stop, or anything similar. Doing so will cause quite a fuss around these parts. :lookaroun Not that you would or anything.

Personally, it helps me to have things broken down into easy-to-read paragraphs. One ginormous page-long block can be a bit of a hassle to read. :dazzle:

Other than that, have fun with it! There are several different styles of report floating around, or you could create your own. Read through a few and see what appeals to you.

Have a great trip!

As has been said, no rules.

But photos help as does a narrative with more than "We went to Magic Kingdom and we did Stitch, then we did Space Mountain, then we did Philarmagic, then we did Splash mountain, then we did....." ;)

If you have lots to say - then say it BUT I'd recommend plenty of paragraphs (keeps it easy on the eyes) and lots of correctly used punctuation :animwink: Oh yeah, a spell check or two comes highly recommended as well

The "rule" I use in writing trip reports is to write something I would want to read, because:
1. This allows me to write in any style and in any length.
2. If I find it interesting, someone else probably will, too.
3. I recognize up front that some people may not like my trip reports. Those folks are welcome to read other trip reports that are more suited to their tastes.

In other words, there are no rules. It's complete anarchy.

One good tip, which is utilized quite often and usually results in the best reading, is when you spread it out per different posts (as well as paragraphs.)

If you take your time between each day of the trip or per span of time then you're more likely to write more details and probably even think more clearly! I love the ones that are like a novel because they spread out the writing over a week or two upon returning home (and some even while they're there!! Crazy people.)
