The opening show for the other parks ... watching the early guests trying to wiggle their way into a better position, and keep their kids excitement in check. Occasionally youll see a guest dancing and singing a Disney song which can be entertaining.

Nope, not anymore (a shame, really). We were never at DHS/Epcot for opening when these still happened, but I still vividly remember the DAK opening show with Minnie/Goofy/Pluto on the truck and Mickey all the way out by the Tree of Life.

This summer at Animal Kingdom, they tried to tell us there was an opening show and we should stay around the front of the park and not go to our first desired attraction. Translation - we don't want everyone rushing to Expedition Everest so please stand in the walkway, watch pretty birds, and then leisurely stroll to your first attraction.
The show? A welcome announcement followed by some of their beautiful birds swooping overhead. I think the people in the back of the mob speed walking (with a few stupid runners) saw the birds. Minnie and Mickey were there on the way to EE. It's always wonderful to start your day with a High-5 from them!
