room upgrades

Hi
I am travelling to stay at beach club villas next week. I have stayed at a few differnt resorts but have allways had terible views. Is it possible to get better room views & how do I go about it, as I am travelling with the inlaws or should I say outlaws & I want to impress them as this is there first visit.

You can ask for an upgrade, but be prepared to pay for it, or ask for a change of rooms at least.

but Im a dvc member & there isnt the option to pay for an upgrade could I just phone them in the U.s & ask as we are in the U.K

All rooms of a particular type (like studios) "cost" the same number of points at BCV no matter what view. You can call Member Services and put in a request for a particular view, but keep in mind that it is just that, a request, not a guarantee. Mention your request when you check in as well. The earlier in the day you check in the greater the chance that your request can be honored too.

I'm not sure what view you're looking for but another thing to consider is that the Epcot view is also an access road view (with the road and its cars/busses/trucks a lot closer than Epcot). Also, it's only the upper floors that have decent views of the park (these are also farther from the road noise).

BTW, upgrades from Studios to 1-BR are very very rare w/ DVC and usually only happen when there has been a major problem. I wish they would do upgrades. We stayed in a studio for a week in January with a 1-BR right next door, empty the whole time we were there.
