Room Rate Question

I have booked my room-only in February of this year and getting closer to my next trip for 2018..So, I have a small amount left (under $500) to pay off from my room at Pop and my last payment I did was in July.. Just curious to know if they would have raised the price of the room or was it grandfathered since I had purchased it before the rates went up..I also have not placed any discounts onto my room as of yet but, just wanted to know would I expect to pay more rather than less?

As long as you don't make any changes to your reservation, the rate on your reservation is the rate you'll pay regardless of what they do to the room rates. Disney (or any other company) would have a large problem from the consumer rights office if they made price changes retroactive.

The only exception that could possibly change your bottom-line total would be a change in the applicable state, county or local tax rate. Depending on how the government implemented the change, Disney might be required to collect (or refund) the difference.

That’s not true. When you book before room rates are released, they are very clear that rates are tentative and can change when the actual rates come out. The OP booked in February for 2018. 2018 room rates weren’t released until this past summer.

You are correct. If any adjustments were made they would have been made in July when the payment was made after the 2018 rates were released in late June.

Whoops, you're right.
(I guess since I don't like booking a trip until prices are finalized, the consequences of booking a trip that far in advance didn't cross my mind)

I assume they send out an updated billing statement once prices are set?

I went and double checked on the 2 payments I did. The first initial one was at the end of Feb when I got the rate and my Second payment was in July and there was no change in price it was still the same rate I had first got with no significant difference...

Whatever is posted now is what you’ll pay.

You have to get on those room-only discounts as soon as possible, It requires you to rebook, but they can do that on the phone. February 2018 general discount has been out for awhile now and Disney is keeping availability low. We're getting Pop at about $100 / night. This year Disney is charging us $148 for a Saturday which is ridiculous. They are really trying to keep those rates high.

If a discount is released, you can still call and see if it can be applied. You're not locked out just because you made final payment.
