Room only cancelation

Hi all. With less than 24 hours before Mr Goalie and I are to leave for the great wedding and honeymoon adventure one of our wedding guests pulled out of the trip. I will also be very surprised if her roommate does not cancel as well. As they are staying in a room we are paying for I wondered what the chances of getting a refund on that room are. I know a package deal has a 45 day window but have no idea about a room only.

Thank you in advance!

I can't find the policy right now on their page. All it says is to call if you have to cancel. With a room only reservation you cancel up to 5 days out fora full refund. That part I am aware of. I have had to cancel the first night of our trip before and I did it at like day 6 without a problem. It looks like this won't help you because you are leaving in less than a day. If my memory isn't failing me once you are within the 5 days you lose the first night of your reservation but you will receive a credit for the rest. Once you check in you are not allowed to receive a credit for any portion of your reservation if you need to cancel. Your best bet is to call ASAP and see what you can do.

Unless the roommate cancels as well, you'll presumably still need the room? Until that happens, I'm not sure there's an issue. If they do cancel as well, then you're on the hook for one night's stay [your deposit]. If your group is of sufficient size and Disney can find a taker for the room, they may waive the deposit and apply it to the total charge, but they're under no legal obligation to do so. It would be nice, but not required.

Hopefully the roommate will still come. And more importantly, best of luck with the wedding, honeymoon and many years of happiness thereafter!

Are you getting married through Disney weddings?? If you are, contact your person in group reservations (probably either Jason, Candice or Kristen) and let them know the situation. Depending on how you're doing with your room block, they may be able to help you out.

If you're not getting married with Disney weddings, I would contact the hotel directly and see what they can do for you. In general there is a 5 day cancellation policy but seeing as it is your wedding, they may make an exception for you.

Congratulations and have an amazing trip!!

Ok, as of right now the roommate is going to go! If she cancels before that group leaves on Thursday I will just talk to the front desk. It was a medical emergency that caused the original cancellation. We did not book the rooms through weddings as we are on an escape package. I think that we have a plan in case the roommate bails at the last minute.

I am off to pack! We need to leave for the airport in less than 6 hours. Ack!
