Room Occupancy

Question for the smart people on here.

First a brief summary of my upcoming trip. Arrive on April 16th for a week and a half. Staying at Pop Century with my friend/"brother", his wife and his two kids, ages 4 and 2...in one room. (Yes, I know we'll probably wanna kill each other by the end.) I've been to Disney more times than I can count so I'm going along as a tour guide/babysitter. My friend went once years ago, his wife and kids have never been. We're staying in one room strictly to save money, dumb as that may be. If it wasn't Easter week with sky-high prices we probably would've gotten two rooms, but I digress.

My question is about room occupancy. Now I am not looking for loopholes or trying to get something past Disney or do anything "shady". I know the maximum occupancy for those rooms are 4 people, but I thought I understood that you could also have a "child under 3 in a crib" or something like that as a 5th person. But when we booked the reservation online, it would not allow us to add my 2-year old nephew to the room because it said maximum occupancy had been reached. Is this just a limitation of the online reservation system? Can we call and add him to the reservation because he just turned 2 and should not count toward occupancy or did they change that policy? Do we even have to add him or can we just show up with him since he won't have a ticket or anything like that being under 3? Any help would be greatly appreciated...
