Room flowers/decoration?

Let's start with what I know...

I know the WDW Florist can deliver to resort rooms. I know they've even delivered small Christmas trees.

I know Gifts of a Lifetime has "decorated" resort rooms.

I know AKL forbids balloons.

However...

I don't know the extent of what the WDW Florist can do, and if it's just gonna show up after check-in and I have to go down to the front desk, that's not so magical.

I don't know what gifts of a lifetime would cost, what they would be able to do, and their planning stuff is all for events without the mention of room decorating - so where would I even start?

Also, is it just a pipe dream to think i'd could walk into my reserve resort room and have it cutely decorated either in advance (seriously bet that's a pipe dream) or while i'm out? (sounds more reasonable if the proper permission is given)

I really want this trip to be special. I want to do something to make it special - but what? The room idea sounds nice, but I don't know how to make it work. I guess a nice floral from WDW Florist would suffice, even if i did have to lug it up the elevator with me by myself, but I really want the "wow" for the person going with me.

Any ideas? I'm sort of stuck as it's not a "special event" in the regular terms. Advice..? Anything..?

Have you looked thru the WDWFlorist's website? Go to the section labled "our unique designs" . There are quite a few good things there. You will not have to "lug" it anywhere. It will be placed in the room for you. We have received and have given many gifts thru them. None have ever been in the room upon checkin, but we never asked for that either. Usually the recipient checks in, then goes to the parks (or explores the resort) and when they return to their room the surprise is waiting for them. Since it wasn't there beforehand, it really does come as a surprise and has always been greatly appreciated! If you don't see what you want then tell them, they will make it up for you.

This is the one we usually send, but there are so many other things...

Last year my brother and I were arriving later than my dad @ the Poly. We sent him a disney themed gift basket (thru disney florist) for fathers day (we were there that weekend).

He checked in, went to the room, was on the phone with my brother when someone knocked at the door. It was someone from the hotel delivering the gift...My dad instantly thought the hotel had sent the basket and commented to my brother about it and my brother had to explain to him that it came from us!

So it was a little confusing but he was thrilled all the same.

Thanks for the input guys, i really appreciate it..

Now, thing i've looked into/researched...

You can get stuff in your room prior to arrival but only by being concierge as they'll assign their rooms early.

At AKL, that'd mean a $150 per night boost in price, and the risk of losing Savannah view as AKL concierge category does not guarantee it. That would royally suck just for trying to get some pretty flowers.

They assign all rooms before you arrive (I was told 10 days out) and I have had stuff in the rooms even when staying non-concierge.

Really? The last 2 trips to the WL we were shown a room map and allowed to pick out our own room. We booked courtyard view and the CM pointed out the section on the map and told us to pick any one we wanted. These were both during the busy summer months.

They will still sometimes let you select a location from those available but they have your room assigned ahead of time or at least that is what the Front desk supervisor at the Polynesian told me. I have checked in with a room assigned and been able to see what else is available. All of our trips are in the Summer.

That would be awesome. I would love that. I always love the woods view because it truly seems like you are away from everything. It smells so good to sit on the balcony when it rains, too. I love WL when it rains.
