Room/Building Choices

It has been mentioned more than once that it is a good idea to try and request a building/room prior to arrival. I know there are no guarentees, but I will do this anyway. We have our list of requests for Carribean Beach, now the question is, How do you do it?

Can anyone provide me with the fax number for the CBR resort? I have heard that 3 to 5 days prior to arrival is a good time. Thanks for the help. Only 17 more days until we hit the road :sohappy: :sohappy:

Ok, here ya go...
Fax:1-407-934-3288

You may also want to hope over to www.allearsnet.com to check out what Deb has to say about faxing requests. They also have a mock letter that you can follow and guidelines as to what is acceptable to request. Good luck and I hope this helps!

A number of times I have stayed at Disney Resorts I have requested a specific building at the time I booked the reservation and each time my requests have been met. No faxing or follow-up on the reservations. I've read other people say that you couldn't do that and you had to fax the request a few days before. Not sure if it's just a coinsidence or what the reason might be, but they have been very cooperative in accomodating the requests well ahead of time. I have never requested a specific room, only made requests for special rooms such as adjoining rooms or non-smoking rooms. Those requests have been met each time, as well. Maybe the policy has changed in the past year?

Lately I've been reading that getting the request on the reservation is the way to do it.

It is a huge job to match up faxes on paper to reservation information on a computer screen.

If your preferences are noted on the reservation, all the information is in one place.

Makes sense to me.....

I call 5 days prior to arrival and put in our building request, and floor request, if necessary. I don't fax, because you can't guarantee that someone got it and entered it into the system. Never had a problem with the request being met, but we also go during slower times of the year.

Just got back a week and 1/2 ago. When making the reservations we made special room requests, specifically a building closer to the main one at POR. We said building 14 or one close to that.

When we arrived they had us in building 37....pretty far away from what we had requested. They did make changes (reluctantly since they were at maximum capacity). The CM stated that they don't look at the reservation for special requests because they have several different ways of putting it in. She suggested calling 10 days directly to the hotel to prevent this from happening again. She stated their heads roll if they mess up on that is called in vs. one on the reservation. She never mentioned faxing.
