Rollover Animation GIFs

Ok, I know how to make an animated gif, BUT I cannot get it to save my rollover animation as one uploadable file. For example, I save optimized as, and then it save me three seperate images instead of one image that has rollover capability.

When I save a normal animated gif, it gives me 1 file, a gif, that animates itself. All I want is a simple button rollover. Can't seem to save it though.

Anyone know why? Help!

Unfortunately, the rollover effect is controled by JavaScript in the html and not by the image file itself. This is the reason for multiple images. The JavaScript tells the browser (client) which image to swap for the visible image on the rollover action.

The only graphic format that I am aware of that does self-contained rollovers is Flash. I don't think that we could use flash animations on this site though.

Sorry there isn't a better answer for you.

Thanks. I was actually doing it for something else, but I've been playing with ti for a while. Finally, I decided to go read through the help menu. From what I understand, if I use the Image Map part instead of the rollover I might be able to do it. I believe it was saying that I could contain the separate images into one........

hmmmmmmmmm.....................

I guess I might just have to break out flash............ ...or not...

Thanks again.:)
