Exterior
The exterior of Sunset Studios, now known as Muppet Studios, is relatively unchanged, aside from new posters advertising Electric Mayhem and the various other Muppet musical acts. The guitar is newly branded with each Muppet having “signed” it as they moved into the studio. The entry arch now has Gonzo hanging off the upside down limo, in a little nod to his previous position in Muppet Courtyard.
Queue
Much like Rock N Rollercoaster, the queue takes you first through an outdoor ramp, now featuring more posters featuring the Muppets, both film and music parodies. Also scattered throughout the ramp are various props the Muppets are moving around, including half of Gonzo's motorcycle (from the DCA version) sticking out of the wall, and the “net full of Jello” hanging over guests.
Once inside guests find hallways of various Muppet memorabilia from over the years, including Kermit's tuxedo from the MV3D pre-show room. Added are several “changing room” doors in which various Muppets can be heard warming up for their acts (Fozzie laughing at his own jokes, Piggy complaining, Swedish Chef banging around various pots and pans….).
One of the added doors is a “security” room manned by none other than Bobo the Bear. Unfortunately he's in the middle of a nap, snoring loudly through the door. But don't worry, he’s even taped a note on the door “For Acts Arriving - Key Under Mat” Checking under the mat, the key is indeed there.
Pre-Show
Guests enter the pre-show room, still a recording studio, just as Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker are recording a scientific video about their new form of transportation, which is a car that goes faster or slower, depending on what type of music is being played. This is demonstrated by Beaker riding a mini limo in circles slowly as a lullaby plays, then zooming around and comically being flung off camera as a rock number starts.
Scooter then enters, asking if anyone's seen the electric Mayhem as they need to be ready for their show. As if on cue, the band bursts through the wall, and Scooter ushers them into the alley to leave for their show. The show from here plays out very similarly to how the existing RNRC pre-show plays out. As the band leaves, Sweetums lumbers into frame with a hammer and board, looks at the broken wall, and groans “I need a vacation”.
Ride
After boarding the limos, which are actually Bunsen's test vehicle, riders turn the corner to the launch, as the sounds of the Mayhem band getting annoyed with traffic and saying how they're gonna be late to the show.
Before launching, the band realizes that the limo can go fast if they turn up the music, and that's exactly what they do. As Animal shouts “ROCK AND ROOOOOLLLLLLL!!!!” the band launches into a song and the limo shoots forward, over the traffic!
Just like on the original ride, the license plate of the limo will determine what song you get:
After racing through downtown LA, riders “smash” the wall of the Muppet Theater, and rounding the corner to unload shows Kermit on stage as the Electric Mayhem smash through the wall behind him. They made it to the shoe, technically!
Before unloading, guests pass none other than Statler and Waldorf in their usual box cracking jokes about the show, and even the riders. The “Look at the guy in the Goofy mask!” Joke returns.
