I mean, Tron is really cool inside and completely changed the skyline of Tomorrowland, but Rock n’ Roller Coaster is by far a better ride. Still, it depends on your interests and those of your travel party. For many, Rock n’ Roller Coaster is of no interest at all, while Tron is the greatest family coaster ever for them.

I like both rides but voted Tron here. Love Aerosmith and think the Rockin' Roller Coaster is a solid ride, but I'm more into Tron and the integration of the ride with the Legacy film is cool. The ride simulates the light-cycle battle you see in the film. I love the launch on Tron. It reminds me of the Incredicoaster (formerly California Screamin') at Disney Calif Adventure, which takes you from zero to 60 in about four seconds. I think Tron gets you there faster (maybe it's the upright passenger position that makes it feel that way?). I love the smooth ride and the feeling that I'm flying. I get the same sensation on Cosmic Rewind.

RnRC is zero to 57mph in just under 3 seconds.

Rock N Roller Coaster. Much more fun ride. I also think Tron suffers from not really being all we expect it to be. I think it should have been 2 tracks, running around and over each other like the movie...two colors competing...maybe it should have been less about speed and more about excitement and near collisions.

Another really tough call, IMO, but I’m going with TRON. I wish it was longer but that initial launch is insane - even better than the launch in RRC for my money. Plus, I really like the cycle format of the ride, much like I do with Hagrid’s.

I like both rides really well but voted RnR since it’s a more comfortable ride. I ended up
With back pain for the rest of the week between my shoulder blades due to how you sit.

I'm not as huge fan of either and would probably put them both in the bottom half of a ranking of the launched coasters in Orlando. Having said that, I'd probably give Tron a slight lead over RnRC, but that's only because I detest the trains/restraints for RnRC so much. If they would ever retrofit RnRC with lapbar only trains, I'd probably favor RnRC over Tron.

Tron is one of the worse non-kiddie coasters out there. Certainly it's the worst in any of the 6 Orlando parks.
Eh, Rip Ride Rockit exists.

I'm not particularly big on either RnRC or Tron, but RnRC takes this easily. Tron is such a lackluster ride, the only thing impressive thing about it is how it looks. It's still fun like most coasters are but it's the least fun one in WDW.

Rock 'n' Rollercoaster by a mile.

Tron's ride system is cool and fun, but it's over in the blink of an eye, the daytime experience is far less interesting, the "story" makes zero sense (we are racing! all on the same team! against nobody!), and it can only accommodate a fraction of those who want to ride, and ONLY if they pay extra or jump through technological hoops to get a spot.

In contrast, Rock 'n' Rollercoaster is available to anyone with a park ticket and a willingness to wait, has 20% more "time spent going fast," and tells an immersive story that's easy to understand.

I think the Tron coaster is pretty fun all on its own. I agree it's a short ride and it's better at night. I would add to that, however, that the enjoyment of the ride is increased if you're a fan of the film. (Tron Legacy) The ride "story" is right out of the movie. =]

I went on Tron for the first time last weekend.

I'd go Aerosmith.

I liked the Tron ride but I was a little underwhelmed. Disney has done a great job with the queues of late and immersing each guest in the ride. I thought that element was lacking with Tron. It was also a bit too short.

And, the launch from Aerosmith is still the most memorable part of both rides, at least for me.

I'm sure you're right. I was coming into it with zero knowledge of Tron (or at least, nothing that I remembered: I saw the first film as a child, and never watched the more recent one). However, I felt that the preshow seemed to promise a type of experience that the ride didn't remotely deliver.
