RnRC Hasn't Opened Yet Today

Today is our checkout day, spending the day at Studios. Had a FP+ for RnRC at 9:50am and got the email at 8am saying that the ride wasn't available for our FP+ window.
Now that we're in the park at 11 it's still down. Haven't had a chance to ask a CM yet, but it obviously is a decent issue if they knew before park open that it wouldn't be running...

They haven't gotten the girls out of Steven Tyler's room yet. When he's finished, he can come to the preshow…

Is there a website that tracks how often and how long certain attractions are down for technical reasons?
Touring Plans probably has the data.
It would be interesting to see how often this happens.

The launch system is its weak point, although it is considerably more reliable than most other LIM/LSM at other parks.

True LIM/LSM launches that push/pull directly on the ride chassis are at the top end of launch reliability as their aren't any extra moving parts. They are problematic until they get the timing down right, though. Once opened - they are the most reliable out of all launch technologies.

The least reliable are the catch car driven ones that involve many more moving parts. The super charged Intamin hydraulic versions leading the pack of being unreliable.

That said, RnRC is a bit of hybrid in that it uses a catch car driven by LSM. It's been remarkably reliable for Disney.

I assume you received an open-ended FP+ for any FP+ attractions through the end of the day?

I feel like RNRC often goes down. I always dread getting stuck on a coaster so it's a big reason I've often skipped RnRC lately (and yeah I know basically all rides go down. It's why I'm waiting to go on Gringotts too). When was the last time RNRC had a true refurb?

It's happening 3rd shift this year

Nice. Smart (especially considering the lack of capacity in DHS so taking it down probably scares the you know out of management).

Good to hear. Thanks for the information :)
Could have been the reason why it was down, could have done something unplanned but that's pure speculation.

Very true. We (I and others) don't always think of the variables that could cause downtime. I think it's the growing culture of react first and think later lol.

TSMM was not included in the list of attractions we could use the "wildcard" FP+ on, but yes we did. Ended up using it to ride Tower a second time in a row after it became obvious RnRC wouldn't be open before we had to leave to go back to the hotel for our DME pickup.
