Riverside King Bed, $20 a night?

Hi all,

My fiance and I are planning our next trip to WDW from Jan 24th - Feb 8th 2009. We usually choose to do 2 weeks in Pop Century, but were hoping to find a way to do Riverside. It looks like our AAA membership can get a room in Riverside for $119 a night during that time... but only with twin beds. It's $139 if you want a single King size bed. I know the twin beds in Pop are small... and we usually land up sleeping separately... which isn't ideal. Are the twin beds in Riverside larger than the ones in Pop? Or is there a way to get a King size in Riverside without spending $20 a night for it?

Any help here would be great... including if there are other ways aside from our AAA membership to make our ideal vacation more affordable.

Thanks!

The beds in PORS and POP are the same size and there is no way to guarantee a king room at PORS without paying for it as king rooms are now a separate room category at PORS. If the $20/day is a deal breaker about all you can do is book the standard room and hope for a free upgrade which unfortunately are not very common any more.

The only way to guarantee a King Bed ANYWHERE in Disney World is to pay for it - and you can only do that at the moderate resorts - at all other resorts, its just a request - and requests aren't guaranteed.

I was not aware that there were many twin beds at Disney. Every place that I looked into had full size beds in the rooms.
I am not sure what the beds actually classify as but they are about as small as you can get and still fit 2 people on them at the moderates and value resorts. The deluxe resorts have all queen and king beds along with a mix of bunk and day beds.

Moderates and values have either one King bed or 2 double beds (also called full size beds).

The only twin sized beds are the bunk beds at WL, AKL and FW, and the day beds in the deluxes and All Star Family suites.
