I think in another year or two it will be overgrown enough that it will be ready for the a lost pirate island theme and they can just open it up again as is. :wave:

Seriously it is a shame about what has happened to the place. It almost would have been better if they just demolished and removed everything and let the area go back to nature.

That's sad. I had never been there so I don't know what it looked like in it's day. Do you think they will every do anything with that property? :shrug:

Those pictures were pretty eerie... How were you able to gain entry into there to snap photos? Was it not blocked off? I am just curious because I will be at WL mid August and would like to get in there and get some pictures myself. Thanks for the picture update.

No problem, thanks for sharing what you found. I would have never stumbled across those on this site had you not. If that was last year...I wonder what kind of disasterous shape it is in now. If anyone out there has any clue if accessing RC is even allowed (which I am assuming there are gates and no trespassing signs up) let me know...Thanks

I was there back in the 80's can't remember exact year. It really is ashame it closd but believe me TL and BB put it to shame. Iguess back in the day it was ok. I only hope Disney does decide to build another water park. When we were there in July BB had to close because it reached capacity early in the afternoon. TL was so crowded at 10 in the morning you couldn't move.

Yeah agreed that lone innertube is really what sets a melancholy and eerie tone. Like you can still hear the distant splashing and laughing from the playing children... :lookaroun

I think it's actually impressive how well the structures themselves seem to be holding up. A little weed whacking and some serious water shock treatment and it looks like it would be ready to go.
