Has there been any info out there about when ROTR will open? All I’ve seen in various articles is “later in the year”

Sorry I haven’t really been following the ride info for Galaxies Edge but is Rise of the Resistance going to be just a simulator or a moving vehicle and simulator like Harry Potter?

It's trackless in physical environments like Mystic Manor, Hunny Hunt etc. Screens vs. physical set ratio is yet to be seen though.

Correct about the "trackless" as employed by Hunny Hunt, Aquatopia and Mystic Manor (those most definitely are not actually trackless but just have the appearance of free moving.......they travel a very definite prescribed path).
As for it being a screen based attraction; it will definite not be. Expect all 3 types of execution: physical sets mixed with screens, large AA's and moving props. This is extremely predictable and obvious. This will happen. Think Navi River's employment (only 15 times better) and Pirates in Shanghai.

Whether you believe they are technically "trackless" or not, trackless has become the term that has been used to describe all of those attractions. Even though the path that these vehicles follow are set, technically there is no physical track to speak of which allows much more freedom of movement.

Whether they follow a set path or not, they are most definitely not on a track...

While the vehicles will follow a predefined path(s), they are not physically limited to that path. The ride path can be reprogrammed and changed, and in all likelihood will be tweaked even after opening. There are wire guided systems that are also sold as being “trackless,” but their ride path is physically defined and would require physical modifications to change the path of travel.
