Rise of Resistance / Hollywood Studios Advice

Hello Friends!

I'm getting SO. CLOSE. to scheduling our dining reservations, but I'm struggling to decide what day we should go to Hollywood Studios.

I usually avoid Extra Magic Hours because I know the parks can end up busier, but is it worth going for Early Magic Hours to get on Rise of the Resistance?

I'm hoping by September they'll have a better system in place, but if not I'm struggling to figure out how to get there early enough to be able to get on. We'll only have one day at Hollywood Studios and I want to make it count!

Also, if they do keep the current system in place, how does it work for Child Swap? My son is only 2 years old and will turn 3 while we're there. He's surprisingly tall for his age - already 37.5" so I'm fairly confident he'll be tall enough for a lot of rides, but I'm not sure that he'll grow the extra 2.5" between now and September for Rise of Resistance.

Any ideas and suggestions for Hollywood Studios are definitely appreciated! My daughter has only been once a little over a year ago, she'll be 9.

Thank you!

Rise of the Resistance isn’t currently running during EMH. And they abandoned morning EMH at the park because of the chaos when they tried it previously.

At this point it’s impossible to know what they’ll do come September. Are you staying onsite? If so, I would plan to do DHS later in your stay to increase your chances for the tier 1 FPs. By then, RotR might even have FPs.

Currently anyone wanting to ride must first get a BG. Even those with a DAS pass, so I assume doing rider swap will still be the same. Everyone gets a BG first, then you take it turns to ride. The CMs will help if your return window isn’t long enough for both of you to ride. I doubt anyone gets to ride twice though (if you have older children).

Oh goodness. I just got a list of park hours for my trip and EMH are posted for Hollywood Studios, I didn't even look to see if they were available now or not. Here's to hoping it's available with FP+ come September!

I Wouldn’t trust those hours too much at this point, even if you got them from WDW. Just be aware they could, and will, change.
