Rides turned into movies

We see this a lot, i.e. Country Bears, Haunted Mansion, but anyone have any other ideas of rides that should/could be made into movies? These can be completely off the wall, but I think an IASW movie would shatter records. Or maybe something like a Figment movie, which I think they could easily do?

Any ideas?

Plus there have been talks of films based on other attractions the most recent is Mr Toads Wild Ride. The other films were...
The Jungle Cruise (Supposedly starring Tim Allen & Tom Hanks)
Space Mountain Movie
Tommorowland Movie Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
The Matterhorn
And a Movie Based on The Magic Kingdom by Iron Man Director Jon Favreau

I've heard the Magic Kingdom movie is supposed to be kind of like a "Night in the Museum" type of plot where the animatronics, etc come to life after the park closes. But do you know any details about what the plots were supposed to be for any of the others? I've heard about all of those, but just never heard what the actual stories were supposed to be. For example, Space Mountain. The DL version is one of my all time favorite rides, but I'm at a loss as to what kind of movie could possibly be made about it.

I think a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad movie could potentially be kind of cool. It could be a family friendly spooky/comical movie about ghosts taking over an abandoned mine train.

Most of Epcot's classic attractions would probably only work as documentaries. But a cool one could be Body Wars. Even though it is an extinct attraction and was clearly inspired in part by a movie (Fantastic Voyage), I think the attraction storyline could lend itself to a cool movie plot.

Dinosaur at DAK (or rather it's original incarnation as Countdown to Extinction) might make for a good movie as well. They'd have to be careful to avoid similarities with the movie A Sound of Thunder though (which was an awesome short story by Ray Bradbury which was made into an incredibly bad movie).

I think a Journey to Imagination movie could be doable, and would actually be pretty good. Based off of the originally ride obviously though. Kind of a tribute in a way since I dont see them ever bringing it back :(

I think Hollywood could have some serious box office smashes with:

The Great Movie Ride: The Movie

Cinderella's Golden Carousel: The Motion Picture

Escape from Spaceship Earth

American Idol Experience: The Movie

I would live there...

What is IASW?

Really what you supposed to do start thinking of all attractions extracting the first letter.

I like to see a "Good" movie for the Haunted Mansion... something without Eddie Murphy.

I know it is Disney and Disney movies are rated "G", but how about a real horror movie? "Touchstone"..??

Oh just dawned on me "I"ts "A" "S"mall "W"orld ....

Well Dinosaur was made...Unless your referring to the Plot on CTX of scientists rescuing an iguanadon it can work...

IMO one which would be interesting as the story is a bit different would be Phantom Manor..

The Haunted Mansion reboot is already being developed. Its supposed to be made by Guillermo del Toro, who made some pretty freaky looking movies before.

When I was a small child I had one of those books with accompanying record/tape/cd (depending on the time frame) that was about IASW. The story, if I remember correctly was about a child getting seperated from her family or group on the ride or in line for the ride. She has a bit of an adventure and then found her way back to her people. I wonder if the movie would have followed that line?

I think Tim Allen in a Jungle Cruise movie could be rather funny. Can't you see him as the idiot who falls for everything his know it all boat skipper tells him? "Oh my goodness! I never thought it would be possible to see the back side of water!"
