Rider Switch / FastPass+

This will be my daughter's first trip to Disney World this August; she'll be 13 months old, so we'll be using rider swap, something I've never done before.

After reading some different sites, it appears that rider swap allows for double the FastPass+ selections. For example, my wife and her friend can have a selection for Spalsh Mountain at 12pm. All of us go to the FastPass entrance and request the ride swap option. My wife and her friend ride. Then, I use my ride swap pass and go on with my wife. Meanwhile, I have a Big Thunder selection for 12, too. So we all go to Big Thunder and request ride swap. My wife and I ride and then my wife can go on with her friend. So, in essence, it's double the selections. Is this correct?

Thanks!

Yes, it is true that you can request a Rider Swap when you have a Fastpass+. We have a 2 year old, so for any of the attractions that have a height requirement, we never book the same FP+ for my wife and I. The only caveat to the Rider Swap is that a maximum of 3 people can come back on it. The only way you can truly double the FP+ though is if one person rides by themself per ride, alternating who actually books the FP+. If your wife wants to ride with you and your friend for every ride, she will need a FP+ for every ride, which means she will hit her max before the two of you do.

I'm trying to figure out rider swap also. So if we want to do say flight of passage, I only need to book everyone else's fast pass except the 3 year old and myself and I can then do a rider swap so I can ride it later. This then will allow me to book fast passes for the 3 year old and myself on something else correct?
