Rider Swap Question

With 3 kids and 2 adults, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train can be an issue if one child is too young to ride it without a parent next to them. it appars to be 2 per row strictly. However all 3 are tall enough to ride it.

Is Rider Swap strictly for a parent waiting with a child who cannot go on the ride whIle the rest of the kids go with a parent? Or can it be used to wait with a child to go next if they want to sit next to a parent and not a sibling.?

For example....if I have a 9 year old and 5 year boy and girl twins....can I take one child, whIle the other 2 wait with Mom, then take another child, and then Mom go with the last child? Is this allowed?

I don't think you will be allowed to do this, as rider swap is intended to happen one time with Dad riding the first time and Mom (or other adult) riding the second. Rider swap is used when children cannot ride due to height restrictions or physical limitations, not for children who can ride but want to ride with a particular parent. We have 3 children and on attractions that only seat 2, Mom or Dad rode alone or the oldest child rode by himself.

No as stated earlier it is not allowed. Rider swap is for when child cant no ride. The child that can ride gets in line with one parent, they give the other parent a fastpass to by pass the line so that when parent one and child that can ride are done parent and riding child can go ride, they will not give you the ride swap fastpass for kids fully able to ride.

Thanks and understood. The boys will sit together, my 5 year old girl will sit with one of us and the other one of us will sit alone.

That's what I would do not so much on the mine train but some of the other 2 seaters that have single rider lines I would rather have the single rider sitting with me than my kid.

The only two rides that are even a problem will be the Speedway (if we even decide to go on it) and the Mine Train (and Space Mountain if height reqiements are met) Most rides like Thunder Mountain I've seen them (and experienced) where 3 (2 small children and 1 adult) can be accomidated per row..

That won't work. A rider under age 7 must be seated next to someone age 14 or older. Your only option is you sit with one 5 year old, your wife sits with the other 5 year old, and the 9 year old sits alone.

Thanks! Was not aware. I guess then either we skip the ride or I take one of my boys and my wife takes the other and we we switch off with my daughter, who will just not go on the ride at all, during the fast pass window.

If you wanted to ride switch they would let you. Ride switch gives you a voucher for up to three people to ride after the initial party rides. In your case your party would wait in line and the first group would be parent one sits beside 5 year old one and nine year old sits behind. You would receive a Ride Switch voucher for up to three people. Those three people would be parent two sits beside 5 year old two and nine year old would get to ride again.

Ok gang, I am going to the World in a few weeks with a lot of family members. We will have three boys of 5 and two girls of 2. In the past, my wife and I have switched on and off while one waited with the girls. Now, my question is, can the wife go with her family and I wait with the kids, then when she returns, can I ride with her while someone else watched the girls? While I have been there several times, rider switch/baby swap is something we really haven't done. Any thoughts/advice would be a huge help.

If you do "ride switch" you will be given a voucher for up to three people to ride the attraction after the initial group has ridden. If the two year olds are not big enough to ride something but the 5 year olds are, one adult will ride with two of the five year olds while the other adult stays behind with the other five year old and two year olds. You will receive a voucher for three people to skip the standby line so the second adult and up to two additional people (the five year old that didnt originally ride included) can ride again. If none of the kids are big enough to ride something then adult one will ride while adult two watches all the kids. Then adult two will ride at a later time while adult one watches the kids.

When my daughter was 2 she was tall enough to ride everything except RNRC , and RNRC was the only thing they would let us ride swap on. The Disney thought on ride swap seems to be they will only let you do if the child is too small to ride, once they meet the height reguirments no more ride swap.

I didn't get this response from them. My son was tall enough for Splash Mtn and didn't want to ride it. They let us ride swap several times.

I guess it depends on the cast member, but I do kinda of agree with the ones that told me no. It should be for families with kids who don't meet the requirments to ride, not for those who just don't want to ride. I was just kind of concerned about putting a 2 year old on TOT but she loved it so it all worked out in the end.

We were just there in late Sept/early October. My son was tall enough for every ride but didn't want to go on Space Mountain or RNRC so they let us do rider share on both of those.

The officially policy allows use when a guest doesn't want to ride an attraction:

"If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!"

Feel free to read the policy more in depth, but as long as one guest doesn't want to ride (or is too short), Rider Switch should be available (some interpretation is certainly available as to whether the Guest not wanting to ride is an adult or not).
