Ride share at Hollywood Studios

One can only successfully use Lyft to Hollywood Studios once the parking lot opens for the day. Is that correct?

Yes.

If you need to get there earlier, a workaround would be taking a rideshare to the Boardwalk resort -- all the Crescent Lake resorts are connected to HS via a paved walkway, but Boardwalk is the closest -- and walking to the HS entrance from there.
