Hello all, I'm a bit of a mechanical guy, currently an aircraft mechanic, and have always thought of working at Disney. I've thought it would be cool to be a maintenance guy on the rides or even the monorail. Of course, money would be a major factor. So does anyone know about how much they pay. Internet searches don't turn up much for those types of positions. Just the usual "you don't work at Disney for the pay, just the experience" type of stuff. Thanks for any input.

I really have no idea but would hazard a guess working on planes will earn you more.

You might be surprised at that. I went to school for it and found out it does not pay what you think it should. There are some good paying jobs just like any other field but the majority of that industry is underpaid. Ultimately I went into business for myself building emergency vehicles.

Wow that's very surprising,

Yeah...tell me about it! I went into training as a wide eyed kid out of high school and had a rude awakening. Many people in that industry are in it for the love of the work. Don't get me wrong...the pay is OK but not in light of the level of training, professionalism and liability you assume on a daily basis.

For regular maintenance guys actually turning the wrenches, between $15-20$/hr which is between $30k and $40k/yr.

The management, more senior techs, and those in charge might make a little more.

If you are working for a major airline such as Southwest or United and have been there a while, then you do get paid really well. I unfortunately don't but I make a decent living. Just always willing to try something new.

Yup. and airlines get bought out and major maintenance hubs get moved forcing you into the decision of uprooting your family to chase the money or looking for a new job. Not nearly as elitist an industry as most people think.

From what I can find, the salary ranges between $31k-$51k. I'm currently working toward my A&P, and have the same desire to work attraction maintenance.
