Richard Petty Driving Experience

I was wondering if anyone had any info on the Richard Petty Riding Experience? We're going down in June and my brother and I wanted to surprise my Dad by taking him. It says that it doesn't take reservations, but I heard from someone that it gets really busy...tips or info that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

My husband did the riding experience, and loved it. Just keep in mind that it's 3 laps on a half mile track. The time spent in the car is pretty quick, but if your dad is a NASCAR fan like my husband is, he will really enjoy it. We went about 9:00 in the morning, and didn't have to wait, but it was in May and the crowds in the parks were real light too. Be sure to bring your camera to take pictures.

The Richard Petty Driving Experience does take reservations. I have them for April. Be advised that there is no refund policy. If it rains, you can reschedule for later in your trip (if available), or they will provide you with a voucher good for one year at any RPDE track.

As a minor correction, the WDW Speedway is a 1 mile track.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I think we'll probably go right at 9am. My Dad is a HUGE nascar fan, as well as my Mom (but her back is really bad, so I don't think it would be an enjoyable experience for her), I'm sure he'll be thrilled. Thanks again
