Reviving old concepts vs. being totally original

Is it a crutch to just reuse/revive old concepts, like those that never saw the light of day (as I usually do here), as opposed to coming up with your own original ideas that only originated from you?

I would say no. Revitalizing or reimagining something still requires creativity and skill from the person doing so. They’re interesting concepts to explore that offer their own opportunities that “original“ proposals lack. Besides, a lot of fan work is inherently based off of something else, even if an idea is completely new it’s still being designed as a take on what (regarding this site in specific) Disney Parks and the like set out to do.

I probably didn’t need to say all that but anyways once again, my answer is no.
