Because I'm a meat & potatoes kind of guy my wife puts up with my trying at least one resturant specializing in steaks/prime ribs etc. I have read good things about Le Cellier in Epcot & Shula's at the Dolphin. Comments and any other recommendations would be appreciated.

I had a bad experience at Le Cellier once and I probably will not go back. The service was terrible and the quality of the steaks our group had were below average. I do not know if this was because we had a later reservation than normal or what.

On the other hand, the California Grill was absolutely perfect and their steak special was the best. You cant beat the view from up there as well!!

My two favorite places to get an awesome steak at WDW are Cinderella's Royal Table and Yachtman's Steakhouse. YUMMY!

If you decide to try Cinderella's RT, make the reservations for about an hour before the fireworks -- it's really neat seeing them through the castle windows!

I do also like Le Cellier but I usually get their Beef Stroganoff which I LOVE! They also have some of the best creme brulee on Disney property.

Never been to Shula's though.

my friends and I stumbled upon Gulliver's at the Swan. the food was excellent and there was a lot to pick from. the service was also very good and the characters included goofy and pluto and since the restaurant wasn't very crowded (it was a tuesday night around 8), the characters stayed at our table for a good ten minutes. they were awesome. i recommend it if you want a nice character meal with great food and good hospitality.

I would take your wife to the California Grill. The food is excellent and so is the view. The steaks are very good and they have a nice menu if you are not a steak person. They also have a nice wine menu too.

Don't forget about the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary. Most folks do, so the place is never crowded and the service and food are excellent!

Well, I've gotta say, DW and I love Le Cellier. She always gets the surf & turf special (filet and lobster tail) and I get the NY Strip or Prime Rib. We love it. Plus, the cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread is great too. Finally, we usually (six out of about seven times) have great service.

California Grill is great, but I wouldn't go there looking at it as a "Meat & Potatoes" place. There's a little too high end for M&Ps. I had some very good polenta there and DW loved their fresh California rolls.

Add another vote for Le Cellier:sohappy: :slurp: Another place that sometimes gets overlooked is the Concourse Steakhouse @CR. We usually do lunch there and the steaks are pretty good

I would definitely say The Concourse Steakhouse is the way to go for meat and potatoes. I love the Ca. Grill too, but i wouldn't call it a meat and potatoes kind of place.
I didn't like my experience at Le Cellier and probably won't go back.
