Well... I can say now that I have found my new favorite restaurant at Disney... Olivia's Cafe, at Disney's Old Key West Resort. My mother and I just randomly decided to check it out. I always loved driving through OKW, and we saw it, and stopped by. It was pretty quiet, there were always tables available, so I have a feeling that not too many people really know about this place. (Also a word to note... I think this place might have Character meals on certain days... but not our meal...)
The atmosphere was very light... casual... like a down home cafe you'd find in a small town... mismatched seats, pictures on the wall, random decorations... but done very nicely.
The food they have there is $$ rated. They have all sorts of food, from seafood, to meat, to poultry, as well as other specialties.
My mother had the Blue Lump Crab Cakes (I think that's what they were called), and I had a Caesar salad, followed by the Fillet Mignon with Lobster stuffed shrimp.
I'm very picky about caesar salads... too many places will just drown the salad with dressing... but at Olivia's it was just right. Just enough dressing to make it tasty, but light enough so that you could taste the fresh crisp romaine lettuce.
My dinner was the best meal that I have had in many many months. It came with a fillet mignon, which was very tasty, and juicy, cooked just right. Simply delicious. It also came with Lobster Stuffed Shrimp... they were so wonderful... As with most meals, it also came with real good mashed potatoes, and tasty vegetables (tonight was squash, zuccinni, and carrots)
It was such a great meal... I would have cleaned my plate, but I don't think my mother would have let me lick it clean... lol
I didnt try my mothers crab cakes, but she told me they were very very good...
Anyways... I HIGHLY reccommend that y'all check out Olivia's at the Old Key West resort... it's kind of like a lil hidden secret place. AMAZING food, good service, you won't be dissapointed.
