Hi Guys,

When we are in Disney in October it will be my mother in laws birthday.

MY wife and i want to take her out for food so was just wondering if anyone can recommend a top restaurant to eat at??? We are not fussy eaters so open to all suggestions!

Thanks!!!!

Disney has many terrific restaurants for a special occasion. Are you looking for a Signature status restaurant, a restaurant in the parks or at a resort? Many wonderful options!

Quite a few really. Jikos, Shulas, Cali Grill, Narcoossees, Citricos, Flying Fish, Artist Point. V&As if you really want to go out and impress her, but it will cost you several hundred!

Anything more specific for requirements? Cost, location, etc.?

Are you looking in park, a resort, or wherever on WDW property?

If you're open to more ethnic food, I absolutely love Sanaa and Boma (Boma is a buffet though).

Hi

We are open to anything just wanted to know peoples views. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We will have my daughter with us who will only be 16 months, whether that will make a difference as she is good as gold and no problem to anyone.

Thanks and keep the suggestions coming!!

If you are staying at AKL, I'd stay local. Hit up Jiko or Sanaa. Sanaa is more slightly classy Indian food (more refined than most local Indian places), while Jiko is upscale African inspired food with a huge selection of African wines. Especially with the DD, no reason to deal with taxis or the bus shuffle.

I'll join the chorus. We also recommend JIKO and have had some delicious dinners there. Also, it is usually has a quieter atmosphere than many other restaurants.

Other than that, we like Citrico's in the Grand Floridian.

Are you going this October? Because if so reservations opened up months ago, so restaurants like California Grill may not still be available.
I would suggest Jiko if you are open to anything and staying at AKL.
Otherwise, my favorites are Narcoossee's & Yachtsman!

Jiko sounds ideal- if you plan your reservation time right, you can have fed your little darling first and put her to sleep in the pram- no buses to negotiate and hopefully she will sleep like the proverbial baby whilst you enjoy!

I like Via Napoli a lot in Epcot. Some people disagree but to me and my friends and family its the best pizza on the planet. Its reasonably priced and has a nice atmosphere.

Arguably you have the 2 best restaurants in the whole resort under your roof. Jiko & Boma. Boma is a buffet so it wouldn't necessarily qualify as an 'event' dining place. But it is mandatory eating none-the-less, so you should do both (I'd recommend that even if you were staying off property).

I recommend le Celier steakhouse in Canada pavilion. The steak is very good. Some of the best I've had. I live in Chicago and the steak is comparable to the best steakhouses here

Now that I know you are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, I would also suggest Boma. Dinner and breakfast there are excellent.

California Grill is wonderful. It is pricy though, but for a treat it is worth it.
Yes, Cali Grill is pricey but if you stick to Sushi and appetizers and salads it's decently priced and you get to see the fireworks! I am a very big fan!

Jiko is fabulous too, especially since you're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Citricos is very very good. DW ate at Flying Fish with the girls last trip, and now feels that is her favorite bumping Citricos to second.
