Restaurant Dilemma!!

We are on the Deluxe dining plan when we go in June. I have one more restaurant spot to fill. We are going to Animal Kingdom that day and eating bfast at Tusker House and lunch at Rain Forest Cafe. I was thinking maybe T-Rex but since we are eating lunch at Rain Forest Cafe those are both pretty much the same. So, here's some other options I'm looking at. These are all restaurants I've never eaten at before so it'll be something new.

Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe
Planet Hollywood
Beaches & Cream
Big River Grille
The Wave
Grand Floridian Cafe
Boatwrights

Any opinions to help me make my decision??!! :cat:

I've been to Planet Hollywood several years ago and thought it was quite awful and the whole props decor I found somewhat cool but overall very tacky. However, with the redo of it and new menu, I think it could be worth a try.
Big River Grille I had a steak that was overdone.
I enjoyed a nice big Reuben sandwich for lunch at Grand Floridian Cafe
The Wave was alright. Not spectacular and definitely not bad.

Unfortunately that's about as much detail I can give having just been to all those places once.

I was thinking the same about Planet Hollywood. Been there years ago but thought the redo might be worth a try.

T-Rex and RC are not even close to being the same, with T-Rex being far superior in both theme and food, IMO.
Of the choices on your list, WP or GFC are both great choices. B&C is a good choice too.

Oh!! I thought they were similar with different decors. That is good to hear cause I would really like to try it. Last time I went (2010) it wasn't on the dining plan so couldn't eat there.

Owned by same parent company, but that is about it. We are an older couple without kids and still enjoy both, but T-Rex much more. Google the menus sometime or do a yahoo image search for the T-Rex food. Big servings, well prepared and most importantly for this old coot...very tasty and filling! Good luck with whatever you choose.

I would pick the Grand Floridian Café and ask for a table near the windows. Great view, relaxed atmosphere, nice menu selections. If you want loud, T-Rex is the place for you. I've only been there once and I don't see going back just for that reason, but that's me.

ahem..cough..Jiko..cough....but if budget or remaining points on the dining plan are a factor Sanaa is excellent. I'm just being wise. I think I recall you enjoying Jiko from other threads.

Oh, Jiko is great, but Sanaa is our favorite. Or is it WCC, or maybe CG...wait, our favorite is B&C, no Kimanos. Maybe our favorite is Ragland Road, no, maybe the new Boathouse. Perhaps is it something more fun like 50's. No, that is not it, our favorite is certainly yet to be discovered. Gotta try more places. Come to think of it, our favorite is not even at Disney...it is over at Celebration, Columbia.

My favorite is still Medieval Times, which is also not in WDW.

Edited to add- to answer the OP, I'd probably choose Wolfgang Puck.

I love Beaches & Cream for ice cream, my favorite is the No Way Jose but the place is very small and only has a couple of booths. There are a number of small round tables that are great for eating ice cream but if you are trying to fit 4 people at it for dinner it will be a very tight fit. If you are lucky to get a booth you will be ok, we waited for a booth once because we were getting burgers and ice cream.

Yeah, that place is fun. They opened one about an hour from us, so it makes the one in Orlando a little less intriguing now. Isn't that odd? Now that we can go anytime we want, it is less appealing. I guess that is kinda how people feel when they can go to a Rainforest Cafe at a mall near them.

That is exactly how I feel about Rainforest Cafe and Shula's, which is why I have never been to either while at WDW.
