Restaurant Advice and Questions

We are visiting WDW from Sept 1 - Oct 7th. We are first timers traveling with our daughters and have two questions:

1. What is San Angel Inn Restaurant like in Epcot?? We heard it was very good and provided a good view of Illuminations??

2. We have 5 p.m. reservations for Boma on Oct 5th, but Animal Kingdom closes at 5 or 6 pm that date. How should we get back to POR from BOMA if the park is closed when we finish dinner??

Thanks ... you guys have all helped with our planning.

San Angel Inn has excellent Mexican food. It has a really nice atmosphere with low lighting that makes you feel like you are in the middle of a market in Mexico. It is definitely one of my favorites!
If you have a car I would suggest driving to AKL. You just tell the guard at the gate that you are there to eat at Boma and they will let you through. If not, take a bus from AKL to Downtown Disney then switch to another bus. It will take longer but that is all I can think of.

1. I love San Angel Inn. We bought a Disney cookbook, and one of our favorites is a recipe from there, yum! It is indoors, and fairly dark. You get a good view of the Rio de Tiempo. However, you will not get a good view of Illuminations from there. Pesky pavillion walls are in the way :p You may be thinking of Rose & Crown in UK for that.

2. We really enjoyed Boma our last trip as well. If Animal Kingdom is closed when you are done (remember transportation runs for an hour after closing), you can always take the bus to Downtown Disney, then take boat or bus to POR.

Have a great trip. Are you serious on those dates? I'd love to go for over a month, but wallet cannot afford it :)

1.) Well, San Angel is inside, so watching Illuminations is impossible while eating there. Perhaps you are referring to the San Angel Cantina outside of the Mexico Pavillion? That particular place is a quick service/fast food type deal that gives a nice view of the lagoon. To be honest, I'd schedule a meal prior to the show. Then, set up a spot to watch IllumiNations after dinner, taking a nice relaxing stroll around the World Showcase in the process. Eating while watching the fireworks is a neat concept, but it takes such pinpoint timing that it's more stress than its worth. The food at San Angel is nice--quite good. And, the atmosphere really is top notch. In fact, I think the atmosphere really sells the entire experience.

2.) A couple of options here. As was mentioned, if you don't mind a little bit of ride, catch a bus to downtown Disney and either pick up the boat or bus back to POR. Or, if you really must get back quickly, taxi is going to be your best bet (although obviously gonna cost ya.)
