I wanted to know, since it has been 8 years since I have been to WDW. I wanted to know which resorts are "Hotel" style design. I already know that The Contempoary. The Polynesian, The swan, The Dolphin, The Grand Floridian, definatly have interior room entries. I need to know what other resorts I am missing here. I could be going with some older relitives on my next trip and they don't like "Motel style" Hotels like the Caribean Beach and the allstars and need to book rooms accordingly. i am refering to WDW owned and operated propertys

Thanks

Disney owns and operates Disney's Yacht & Beach Club, and the Disney Boardwalk. They are all fully 110% Disney resorts.

They seem out of my range from what I can tell, I would love to stay there but unfortunatly I have a tight budget for now since the Ex took me to the cleaners eariler this year. Looks like WL might be my current choice

I thought Animal Kingdom Lodge was Disney owned  We stayed there in April and it was gorgeous. We paid 144.00 a night for a pool view (with a code from www.mousesavers.com). Make sure you check for codes for the resort you decide to go with. I think you'll be surprised at how good some of the special are.

Hey goofett Ak is WDW owened and operated but for me it's too out of the way. I want to be closet to the central core of everything. I have a fondness for staying as close to baylake as possible. I have seen some WL codes for $129 but I cant go right now.

I can understand that. My next visit I would like to check into the Polynesian. But then others have talked so fondly of WL or Boardwalk, it makes me want to check them out also.

Yeah I think the MK area holds a lot of memories for people, though from when I can remember my parents stayed at the Yacht Club. So I am very fond of the area. And technically Epcot is the center of the WDW property.

Travis and Goofett

I spent some great Christmas' at WDW in the 70s especially in the last three years we went as a family unit. Our Parents let me and my sister go at it alone in The Magic Kingdom It was so great for me being 14-16 at the time. I feal very fortunet that I was born when I was that I was old enough to enjoy WDW from the first year in '71. The only thing sweeter would have been to be ther in October of 1971 for the grand opening and dedication. so thoes early years holds some fond memories of my childhood. I am just wondering how many members on the boards that were born 63 or earlier went every year like I did as a kid?

OH BTW I found this as I was looking thru my Disney arcives of Disneyana and memorabilia. when you would book a room in 1978 there was a hard stock card that was sent with you "Package " you ordered from CRO it was 6inX10in folded the long way and was canary yellow. On the front to the left side said" How To reserve your corner of the World" With the WDW logo under it and to the right of that was a map of WDW as existed in 1978 on the back was the address to send to CRO.
When you openrd the inside there was the usual disclamer as well as explnation of the resorts accomadations.

Here are the Prices for the folowing

Contempoary Garden wings )
Polynesian ) $55&$65 a night
Golf resort )

Contempoary Tower were $75 a night

Fort wilderness Campsite $ 18 a night

Boy how far we have come since then

 my goodness the info on this thread is so chopped up! ok..let me see if i can get all the 'hotel' type resorts on one post...

Animal Kingdom Lodge
Contemporary (only in the main part)
Poly
Grand Floridian
Wilderness Lodge (main and Villas)
Boardwalk (Inn and Villas)
Yacht & Beach Clubs (BC- main and Villas)

so in other words, yes, ALL deluxe resorts are 'hotel' style. all of which i listed are Disney owned and on property.
the only on propert resorts that Disney does not own are Swan and Dolphin, and the resorts across the street from Downtown Disney.

Animal Kingdom Resorts = Animal Kingdom Lodge

Magic Kingdom Resorts = Contemp
Poly
Grand Floridian
Wilderness Lodge

Epcot Resorts = Boardwalk
Yacht & Beach Clubs

*phew* hopefully i got all of that info straight on here! if there's anything anyone needs to correct/add, go right ahead! :)

Disney does indeed own the Swan & Dolphin, however, they are run by outside companies.
