Resort Window Decorating??

Hi all!

I was watching various You Tube Disney vacay videos and noticed this one couple decorated their window sill (cill, seal...???) at Pop Century for Halloween. My DH and I are going the The World October 1-5 and staying at the POP as well and I've been obsessed with the idea since seeing the VLOG. Is this something that is popular or is it just a spur of the moment decision for this couple to have done? Does anyone know if the resorts frown upon decorating resort windows? Thanks to all!

It is very popular at the value resorts during different holidays. We stayed at POP over Valentine's Day and there were a couple of red heart themed decorated windows. One even had tiny red lights!

Feel free to make your window festive!

I have seen it many times at the Value and the Moderates! If you think that is fun you should see the lengths people are known to go to decorate at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds during Christmas.

I'm planning to decorate our window in October for the ToT 10-miler. It's a girls' weekend, and that's just one of the little surprises I have planned! :)

I have been told that it must all be removed each day so that mousekeeping will be able to clean.

Nope - We have decorated our windows with Christmas clings and lights for the past several years and have never heard a peep. I think they frown on anything that could leave a mark, but I always use the clings and suction cups (in the corners).

I LOVE the pictures! I've seen everything from lights to window clings to spider webs. This makes me very excited! The brainstorming has already started even though I still have 4 months to go!

I've seen the Wilderness Lodge balconies and windows decorated each year and the same at the Boardwalk, Poly, Grand Flo, Yacht and Beach Clubs.
So it is not limited to the values and moderate resorts.

Just be sure not to use anything that is going to damage the window or the wall next to it. The best thing to do is to use 3M removable two sided tape. You can even use poster tape. Don't use regular tape. It will damage the wall when you take it off.

I will most likely get the suction cups to put in the corners and maybe some light command hooks. We use those for EVERYTHING in our house and they have never caused damage here. Thanks to all the responses! :D

As long as what you've done with the decorating doesn't interfere with Mousekeeping, they don't mind. My daughter always brings one of her Mickeys with her and last trip, they decorated the window with him. We thought someone had taken Spider Mickey - she'd left him on the bed - and we even called the front desk - until one of the CMs at the front desk asked if Mousekeeping had used him to decorate our room. Yup, there he was, hanging on the window curtains. We didn't notice him because they had closed the blackout shades and had hung him off the sheers. And to make us feel even dumber, we didn't see him when we entered the room. Mousekeeping love to take your plushes and decorate the room. Every time we came back in the afternoon, we wondered how they would redecorate with Easter Mickey & Minnie and all the other plush items we bought. It was always a hoot! Not to mention what they can do with towels and washcloths. We've, huh, taken a few of those souvenirs home with us because they were so well done.

My son bought a bunch of Perry the Platypus last trip. From very small key chain stuffed one (that we removed the chain from) to a very large stuffed one. Each day they were in different scenarios in the room. One coming out of the cabinet, one on top of the curtains, two of them playing with other toys that we had in the room... It was all pretty cute.

Fort Wilderness will be in my future plans for sure. I've seen pictures and Vlogs of those decorated campsites as well. We may just have to take a stroll one of the days we are down there!
