Resort Upgrade on Arrival

We're staying at the Carribean Beach from the 17th and I was considering trying to get an upgrade on our room from Standard to Water View.

Is it easy enough to do at checkin time?

If there is space available and you want to pay for it, there will be plenty of time. Why not just modify it now?

I was going to say the same thing. If you can afford it, book the better room now. There is no guarantee that there will be a room available or that you will be offered it.

It probably won't be hard at all if there is space available. But if you know for sure that you want the upgrade you probably would be better off upgrading now so you know you'll definately get it.

I have had success in getting an upgrade after arrival though. I recently stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and we got an upgrade from water to savannah views. My friend checked in before I got there and she asked to be upgraded and they ended up doing it for free. She had been prepared to pay, but that was a nice surprise.

I agree that if you really want it and there's time, go ahead and book it to make sure.
But I've had some success in getting better views simply by being among the early check-ins for the day. Got the Seven Seas Lagoon side of the Contemporary Tower once. Got waterfront view at Wilderness Lodge once and have gotten woods view instead of standard view at Wilderness Lodge two other times.

In all the times we have gone we have only been upgraded once, last year. To a Courtyard view in the WL because the room we requested wasn't ready.
It was a nice suprise & its now become our favorite.

I'd like to be able to do the upgrade before we leave, but it all depends on how much we spend on the first part of our trip.

Thanks for the advise though.

And be sure to explain to them you want a water view, not a hidden water view by landscaping.

The Check in CMs, I know for sure, have small little maps of each island that actually have little circles and squares for bushes and palm trees. So you can tell just how obstructive your water view room will be.

For a great view, don't be afraid to resquest Aruba 5256--5261. It's a second floor room offering beautiful unobstructed views, close to the Aruba quiet pool and a quick walk across the lake to Old Port Royale.

I really hope you'll love Caribbean Beach, it's a personal fav!!
