Resort TV

I have heard that the resort TV is no longer around. Is this true?

Tragically, our beloved 'Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip for Today' has been supplanted by a bubbly lunatic named Kryssa who guides us on a tour of the parks' allegedly best attractions, which generally are not indeed the best attractions. Kryssa is absolutely insane and entertaining, but her show is awful compared to the previous 'WDW Tour'.

Fortunately, the old Resort TV loop can be found on IRC -- #disney-central on NewNet. (You can find instructions on how to acquire it elsewhere in the forums ...)

It seems unlikely that the old show will return, but let's hope that it does!

True ,but change should only be used when it is needed. Sometimes Disney changes things simply for the sake of change. This is the perfect example of that. I mean Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion, for example, have not seen any major changes since their opening. Change is not always needed. And there was absolutely NO NEED WHATSOEVER to replace the "Zip A Dee Do Dah Day" program. Almost everyone loved it and it was not getting stale. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

BTW I am not hinting at Alien Encoutner here either. I can see how some people would be wanting a change because AE was not for everyone. I had to say that so nobody could accuse me of hinting around like I usually do

To answer your question...

..Yes resort TV is still on.
There are still several channels with Park info.
They have added several differant Language channels of it including Spanish and Japanese. There may be others but I forget.

They have changed some of the old programming but there is still lots of Resort TV to watch in your room. :sohappy:

There is no Japanese resort info channel but there are regular channels from Japan & Germany. There is also talk of a China/HongKong regular channel, look for a gold spinning logo with a "Coming Soon" crawl but no ID. You would think a channel from Canada, Britain and Brazil would be there since that's where the most foreign tourists come from - go figure!?

There 10 channels:
1. Radio Disney/Bedtime Stories 2. What's On TV? (TV Schwdule)3.WDW Today (Daily Times, Events & Weather) 4. WDW Tour - Top 7 (English) 5. WDW Tour Top 7 (Hotel Plaza - Disney resort stuff deleted) 6. Your Next Disney Vacation (Parks worldwide and DVC seaside resorts) 7. WDW Tour (Spanish) Still running the old program, no date for upgrade yet 8. DVC (English) 9. DVC (Spanish) 10. What are ya gonna do next? - Actually goes only to the Magic Kingdom Bus Terminal featuring just video of other parks with no talk, the buses are too loud.
There may be other local resort channels on Channel #20 depending on the resort you are in.

A list of of the Resort TV channels and the rest of the cable TV lineup can be found at: http://allearsnet.com/acc/resort_tv.htm

Though a bit dated, since the lineup was last updated in August 2002. Would anyone know of the current channel lineup? Also, does Disneyland have anything like this in their resort hotels?
