So I've posted before about my upcoming ladies only trip in Sept. and my 180 mark came and went weeks ago. I thought we were good to go and then I got a text from one of the ladies, that she just isn't sure about Yak & Yeti for lunch anymore. So we decided, maybe we should try a nice table service lunch at one of the resorts... since we'll already be at AK, we could just hop on the bus to any resort. Problem is, we don't know which ones are good so, :( any table service resort restaurants you guys recommend?

Although not close to the AK, the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian or Whispering Canyon at the WL would be great choices. Closer to the the AK would be Sanaa at the AK Villas or the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. There is also The Wave at the Contemporary or Trails End at Fort Wilderness. I dont' think you could really go wrong from any of these choices.

since you are at AK you gotta go to Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge the Zebra domes alone are worth it. We went there in 2009 and said that we would go back one day. Its a buffet meal with loads of choice.

Thats fine, distance does not matter, we will be heading to DTD after we eat at the resort. Ill look into Kona, the Wave, and Whispering Canyon. Since my friend isn't fond of Yak & Yeti because she like "simple" food I don't know if Sanaa would be for her either. So thank you!

Have you looked at the afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian? It would be so much fun on a girls only trip. My mom & I did this, and both got little sandwiches, berries & cream, scones & strawberry tea. We absolutely loved it!

I also love Kona Cafe for a casual, nice lunch. :)

Ohhh.. How do I get more info on the afternoon tea?

Also far away but has a great lunch is the Grand Floridian Cafe. Great atmosphere and really good service. A very nice place to sit back and enjoy lunch without being rushed.

I've never heard much about the Grand Floridian Cafe. I've never been to the Grand Floridian either, it looks so beautiful. Im excited to be going to Narcoossee's on our first day... so maybe that will give me another reason to go back:D

I think Sanaa is a logical choice. It's nearby and boasts unique, reasonably priced cuisine.

Unfortunately, My friend isn't big on trying new things  ... So I'm not sure African cuisine is her style... she's a party pooper! I want Zebra Domes:D

In that case, I second Grand Floridian Café or Olivia's. The latter especially has some well-prepared "simple" food that would also satisfy a more adventurous palate. I love their soups and the salmon salad. They also have some good-sounding sandwiches that I'd like to try when we stay at Old Key West in November.

I was tempted by Olivia's since we are heading to DTD, and a boat ride after lunch would have been great, but I couldn't find many reviews on it
Olivia's is one of my favorites having dinner at, but I never ate there for lunch yet. When I went, Olivia's didn't have all day lunch and dinner menu yet.

What I said how good dinner is at Olivia's, should be the same for lunch since it has the same menu for Lunch and dinner.

There's a really detailed menu at AllEars. We did the Buckingham Palace, and it was very good. Our tea sandwiches were egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad, and I'm blanking on the other 2. I think one was some sort of cucumber sandwich and one had shrimp. I don't eat seafood, so they doubled up on egg & chicken for me. The berries & cream were also excellent. You can call WDW Dining to make a reservation for it. :) We went right at 2 when they opened, since we wanted it to be our lunch, and that worked out well! They serve from 2-4:30 or 5. The room is really pretty where tea is served.
