Good Morning All. Now correct me if am wrong but I don't think Value resorts have TS restaurants but how important is TS restaurants at the resort your staying at.? This year at the start of our second week we were about to head off for Epcot when the skies opened up and we jumped into our resort food area,we had a drink at the bar waiting and waiting and waiting. But it was raining cats & dogs still one hour later.I noticed that "Boatwrights" was only half full ( staying at PORS ) and decided to dine as they had no problem finding us a table. Not only was it a really nice meal but our server was awesome and it turned out a great night. So how do you consider this when picking your resort.Must admit staying at AKL your spoilt for choice.Opinions please.;)

You are correct, the values do not have TS restaurants.

Having a TS restaurant on property doesn't matter to us one way or the other. We would rather eat at the restaurant that suits us for a given meal. Typically we don't repeat TS meals during the same trip, so we wouldn't eat there more than once anyways.

I like having a table service in my resort, I love a nice breakfast before heading out one or two days of my vacation. Also at least one day a vacation we will head back to the resort for lunch and some pool time.

We really liked the Pepper Market buffet for breakfast but I wish it was not a sit down. Using up a sit down on a non-character breakfast kind of stinks but the food was very good as was the service. TS at our resort is usually not a big deal and not a decision maker in any way for us but it is always a pleasant surprise when it turns out well.

For one reason or another we usually end up booking a meal at a restaurant at our resort durring a trip. We usually have our meal on either the first or last night of a trip. Our last trip was our first stay at AKL and while we try to head over there for a meal, this time we just couldn't help ourselves. We booked the Wanyama Safari (which includes Jiko) for our first night, did breakfast at Boma on our MNSSHP day, booked Sanaa on what was supposed to be our last night. Our flight got cancelled due to bad weather and we had to spend a few more nights in WDW (sucks for us, right?) and we ended up having dinner at Boma on what was our actual last night. Not to mention we went to The Mara twice for lunch (the African stew is awesome).

But, to answer the question at hand, we don't really consider the TS options when deciding on a resort. It just so happens that the resorts we stay at have restaurants that we like.

I like TS but our budget allows us QS MOST of the time. I really really want to eat at The Whispering Canyon Cafe. I have heard that it's a great expereince and great food! We normally stay at Values and Moderates as well (again, the budget allows it lol) And, since we are Fl resident annunal passholders, most of our trips are 2 days, 3 days, or 4 days but when we stay for 7 or 8 days once about every 2 years, we will do table service for sure. I am a big fan of character dining! I have not done that since I was very young! :( Hope to do it some time in the near future!
