Resort Pools

We recently stayed at the Polynesian and Yacht Club. I noticed that at the Yacht Club when you use Stormalong Bay it's like getting into Fort Knox, i.e. - guarded, asked to show your resort i.d. etc. This was NOT the case at the Polynesian pool. I actually felt like anyone could come from the Magic Kingdom and take a dip. So what gives? I feel if they ask for i.d. at one resort, then they should ask for them at all. Maybe you could swipe your room card for admittance at your resort. Just a thought and I have never pool hopped either. I just feel like it should be your resort, your pool, wherever it is.

Not to say that you are wrong, because in a way I do agree with you, but I think that people should be allowed to go there if they choose. It is only like that at couple of places though!

Money talks.

During the times my family goes to WDW we normally have friends and relatives along. During my upcoming trip in September, we have 74 other people with whom we will visit during our trip. They are in resorts all over WDW. While we seldom spend time at any of the pools, we often visit the other resorts. I have never had a problem gaining access to any guest area at WDW.

Talsonic are you saying you Bribe the CMs??

While I have been known to give a gratuity for special service, no I don't bribe the CM's. All the resorts have shops, restaurants, pools and other "money pits" and they welcome guests with open arms. I once saw a post on this board in which a person asked how they could get past security and into a particular resort of which they were not a guest. Some people said, "Tell them you have a friend staying there and you are coming for a visit". If a security guard asks me why I want to visit a particular resort I reply, "I want to spend my money here". I've never been stopped yet. Money talks.

I remember when Disneyworld was tiny and there were only the Magic Kingdom resorts. You could swim anywhere, as long as you were staying on property. I think even now you could pretty much use the facillities at any resort. You can use the fitness centers, child care, even if your not staying at that resort, but of course you have to pay for those things anyway. I think one should be allowed at any resort, otherwise how could you eat at thier resturants? Scanning cards gets a thumbs down in my vote.

Anyone (Disney resort guest or not) can visist any other resort. Useing the pools is a different story.

As DVC members one perk is pool hopping. Until BCV opened you could use any other resort pool. Now that BCV is open you can not pool hop to SAB, but all others are open.
