Resort Mugs

I have been to WDW many times. Every time we go, we usually stay at a different WDW resort. I have resort mugs from Caribbean Beach Resort and Coronado Springs Resort. This year we're staying at one of the All Star Resorts. Does anyone know if the food courts allow you to use the beverage mugs from other WDW resorts at their food courts? I hate the thought of buying more mugs, which I don't need.

Yes they do let you use other resort mugs. Its an un-written rule, but I know lots of people that do it, and nobody ever says anything to them, so go for it.

Mugs

Yes; I've heard (and seen) the same thing. One thing, though, just be casual about it. I remember at the Caribbean Beach one year I was talking to my mother about this very subject and told her that I thought it was "OK" to use other mugs from other resorts, etc. A Cast Member overheard me and said, "You're not supposed to...." She kind of "winked and smiled", so I got the impression that while it's technically not allowed, no one will say anything if you just go about your business.

I go to WDW all the time and have mugs from over the years and from different resorts. I use them all the time they don't care or check. I guess it would be to much work to check everyones mug.

Technically you aren't supposed to use the mugs from other resorts, but most CM's don't care. But if they do say something, don't fight because they are right.

For the most part Disney CM's know it is going on but don't really care. Plus they have to be nice to you, its their job.

Joke from a friend at Universal Studios(Horror Make-up show):
(the two hosts are making fun of a lidy who does not speek english[part of show])

HOST(to audience): Hey! This is Universal Studios, not Disney World, I don't have to be nice to you!

I saw people using mugs from Dixie Landings at Port Orleans Riverside in March. So, they must allow it?

Well....Port Orleans is the new name for the resort formerly known as Dixie Landings. So technically it is the same resort.

Disney thought the name, Dixie Landings, was politicly incorrect. Go figure. :brick:

There was more to it then that...

A disney bus driver told me this...

French Quarter as we all know is small compared to the other moderate resorts. They wanted to make it more noticable and larger. They also wanted to combine the stories together and make people think they were actually in Louisiana. Another reason was that if for ever there was a problem and guests had reservations at one resort and had to be moved to the other, the people wouldn't really think they were going to another resort, just another section.

Oh, ok all I heard was it was because of the name. I guess that makes sense. I got confused because when we went to Riverside we got confused because we were looking for Dixie Landings and people kept saying Riverside, so after ten minutes a CM told us about the name change.

Well part of the reason was because of the Politically correct situation.
