Resort Hopping

This last trip my family did some resort hopping just to get a feel for the resorts! We had lots of fun and really enjoyed walking around them. Have you ever done this and which was your favorite resort just to visit?

If I had to pick a hotel to visit, it would be the WL. It has a nice lobby and gift shop. You can go out back and see the geyser go off, which is kind of an event. WCC is a lot of fun. And you can walk over to Ft. Wilderness, if you want. A nice walk through the woods and even more stuff to do.

I never was one to go look at a hotel when I could be in a park, but WL is the one to visit - most entertaining visit, IMO.

I enjoy the epcot resorts and monorail resorts. Easy to go from one to another without wasting time. This next trip we will visit AKL when we leave AK.

We always do a beach vacation after WDW, so on our return to Orlando Airport we stopped off at AKL last trip. It was awesome. I'm going to now do that for every subsequent trip and pick a different resort each time.

We love resort hopping. Our favorite hop is the Poly, but we love the others too. Our favorite hops have been during holidays...carved Jack-o-lanterns contests at Halloween & gingerbread displays at Christmas.

I love to resort hop! I mainly hop on the monorail line, get off at each resort and walk around for a little while. Sometimes I do it just to get out of the heat. I love to sit in the Grand Floridian lobby and listen to the music and people watch. If I want to leave a park and go to Downtown Disney, I will jump on the first resort bus that I see. This is a great way to see other resorts.

We're more "park" people. I've been to several resorts for one reason or another, but resort hopping doesn't really have a strong appeal for me.

I usually visit all the Monorail resorts after a breakfast at Chef Mickey's

We do it most trips, it is great at Christmas with the different ginger bread houses and decorations. On one of these hopping trips I became interested in the Yacht Club but my family just do not want to stay there.

We do a lot of times when it is a rainy day....it fun to check out the lobby's and shops and restaurants. That is how we stumbled upon Olivia's before actually staying there, and man we loved it.

Resort hoping is better during the holiday season. Though, in May 2009 I resort hopped and tried different food and drinks that were specific to that resort. Its nice to do but not something I have to do every trip. Ironically, I enjoy going to the value resorts when I do visit. The atmosphere is more inviting them the moderates and definately deluxe. I enjoy going to the GF to see snobbery at its best. I used to love walking around the Polynesean but the island smell that was once there seems to be gone now.

I did it my last trip only visiting GF, Poly and the contemporary out of those 3 I think the Polynesian was my favorite. I resort hop after my AK day, and go to a resort or two and head to poly for ohanas

We like to visit the resorts to eat, especially during Christmas time when they are all decorated! Food, drinks, and the Christmas spirit!!! Can't beat it in Disney!

I would love too!!!!!! I would be fun to check out all the resorts to see which one you like the best for atmosphere by hopping from resort to the resort. I have done the MK monorail resorts one time when my friend was running the WDW Marathon and I had just finished breakfast at Chef Mickey's and had nothing else to do!!

I would probably say Poly because I'm usually already there for a wonderful dinner (and a few beverages) at Ohana but AoA was a very pleasant surprise this past September. Between the food court, the pools (just looking..no swimming), the Cars section (LOVE) and the gift shop, it was a couple hours very well spent. We would go back for lunch at the food court easily.

Yes on several trips we've done this. Our favorite was a tie between AKL and WL. One of these days we may get to stay at one of them.

We started resort hopping a little bit on our last couple trips. Mostly just the monorail resorts and CBR. My favorite resort that we have visited,but not stayed at yet, is by far the Poly. Someday I will stay there. Someday.

Yes I have snooped around many resorts..Poly..AKL...Contempory..Swan & Dolphin..Boardwalk..But my favourite was WL..When I do my resort hopping I always make sure I keep far away from the pools..
