I've been a frequent visitor of this site and these boards for about a year now, but this is my first post and I need some help/advice.
My wife and I are planning a WDW trip in early June for us, our 4 children and my parents. We tried to get into Port Orleans Riverside (which is where we stayed in 2011 for our first trip in the alligator bayou section and loved) but there are no available rooms with the spring discount that wdw is running. Our other 2 choices are Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach. We loved POR so much and are disappointed that we won't be staying there, but we are looking at this as a way to experience something new.
So, which resort would you recommend, and why? Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach. Our children are 14, 13, 11, 8 if that makes a difference. Really need some knowledge and help in this. Thank you to all who respond.

So, did you rule out POFQ?

Although I once got a snake in my flip flop at Caribbean beach, I would choose it because I do not like the food or atmosphere at Coronado. I have stayed at both of them many times for sporting event. I would pick Port Orleans over both. :) Good Luck to you!

Stayed at both and liked both but liked Coronado better. But if you ask my kids (9 and 7) I'm certain they'd pick Caribbean beach. We stayed in the pirate rooms. They loved it. Pool is cool too

Stayed at both, liked Caribbean Beach better. Coronado seems so big and spread out. Of course, our room location probably had something to do with my opinion, I will admit. We were in the Jamaica section at CBR and could see the bus stop from our room. When we stayed at CS, our room was the furtherest room away from the Main building, the last room before you rounded the corner of the building heading back towards the front. But I just liked the grounds and the atmosphere at CBR.

CSR, ask for the Cabana Section. They are right in front of the sandy beach area where the hammocks are. Preferred CSR 1000% over CBR. I felt like the food court was a notch better than CBR, the Maya Grill is a TS option on property, the grounds are beautiful/peaceful/intimate, the big pool is great with hot tubs, fun movie and smore night if you aren't at the parks in the evenings, they have a gym on property, the rooms are larger than CBR...bus service was good no real complaints..loved CSR.
