I cant see whay any one would travel all the way to Disney and bother with a gym, isnt the walking 14 hours a day enough exercise? But then Im a fat git.

As I understand it the "official" line is that facilities are for the use of that resorts guests. Unless of course its a Spa treatment. Nothing really to stop you using them if you get to the resort using Disney transport.

That said I dont even recall seeing the gym at Wilderness lodge last year

Sorry to be drifting from the original question here, but it is of a similar nature.

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge next year for the first time. This resort has a gym/health center - is there a charge for using it, or is it a perk of staying at a deluxe??

Thanks

I'll be happy to answer both questions.

Disney's Boardwalk Resort, Muscles and Bustles Health Club
Disney's Contemporary Resort, Contemporary Health Club
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, La Vida Fitness Center
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, The Spa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
Disney's Old Key West Resort, Old Key West Resort Fitness Center
Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Ship Shape Health Club
The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Sturdy Branches Health Club

Hours:6:00am - 9:00pm

Age requirements: Guests age 14 to 17 allowed but must be accompanied with a parent or guardian.

Fitness Center Prices: $12 per day per Guest (age 14+) of any other Walt Disney World resort. Complimentary with Massage, Facial, or Body Treatment or for guest of the resort where the fitness center is located.

Swimming Pool hopping is not allowed. To prevent overcrowding, each resort's swimming pool is for the exclusive use of the guest staying at that Resort only. Do note, that some resorts are "sister" resorts, were all amenities are shared including the pools.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

It seems that members of the Vacation Club can use other Vacation club hotel gyms free of charge--- for example we stayed at Old Key West Resort and were able to go to the gyms at The Boardwalk and Saratoga Springs.

i could never and i repeat never go to another resort and use there pool then get back on the bus all wet coz you would have to either go toa park or downtown disney to get a bus back to your resort.

ive just got one question: when you use the gym does that include a facial etc, because that sounds really nice if its only $12. ps thanks for all that info.

The $12 covers only the use of the fitness center itself, using the weight machines and such. Any Massage, Facial, or Body Treatment are separately priced, but will include free use of the fitness center.

Enjoy! :sohappy:

Col, I think JPVonDrake meant the $12 fee for use of the Fitness Center is waived to those paying for Spa Treatments.

No $12 Facials here! http://www.relaxedyet.com/services.shtml

thanks for that, ive bookmarked the page and im going to read it properly as it looks interesting but very expensive. if i have enough money left over i will treat myself as a christmas gift.

I think I need to correct some info here...

If you stay at one of the Resorts that offer a health center, you are allowed to use it free of charge (any deluxe resort offers one). If you are a guest at another resort you can pay to use the services the health club offers.
