Resort/Cruise cups

Has anyone been both to a resort AND a the Disney cruise and used the same mugs? I posted this on the other thread, but I have an annoying friend that is insisting this is so and I'm losing patience in proving him wrong, LOL.
Any info on the whole resort/cruise mug situation would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much.

Disney doesn't like it...

They want you to buy the mug for that resort....

Your not going to get in trouble if u use your cruise mug....I don't even think a CM will notice....and the worst they can do...is say "Sir...those Mugs aren't allowed in this resort"....which I doubt they will....

But like I said...you can't use cruise mugs....

When i was on the cruise in Oct 2001, i saw quite a few people using resort mugs. They were even handing them directly to a Cm to fill.
