Reservation Questions

Thanks in advance. I know that several of you have become master of welcoming home new neighbors, and answering great questions.

1.If you are booking a trip 11 months out for your home resort, does the first day of the trip only have to be within 11 months? Or do you call back each day to reserve another night 11 months out for your entire stay? Silly question, but curious?
2.Do people go a day or two early during busy time, (If all you need is the first day to be withn the 11 month or 7 month window) to get said rezzy?
3.Let's say I buy 100 pnts to OKW, and later buy 50 pnts to AKV, can someone explain how my booking window works? Do I get to use all points with the 11 month window or only the add ons? Reason being, I keep seeing people saying they added 25 pnts to another resort, and if you can only use those 25 to book at the 11 month out,plus banking and borrowing, they may not have enough to book the entire trip.
4.Do most people that add on points, try to wait or ask for (I don't know the exact lingo) the same reacurring month? So that all points re-accumulate in the same month. Just seems managing them would be easier.

You are allowed to make a reservation 11 months in advance of your check-out date. For non-busy times, I just call 11 months prior to the check-out date. For hard-to-get ressies, you can call 11 months in advance of your check-in date + 1 day and book only your first night. Just tell MS that you'll be booking day-by-day. Every day, just call back and add 1 more night until your entire trip is booked. This is typically not necessary, except for busy DVC times.

No, that won't help.

You can only use the points you own at a resort when booking it at the 11-month window.

When you add-on from Disney, you will get the same Use Year. A Use Year marks the time each year when you receive a new allotment of vacation points. It affects when you can bank and borrow vacation points, and sets the deadline for certain vacation decisions
