Reservation Question???

Our Use Year is December and we are planning on a trip for January 2009 (about 220 points). At the current time we have 160 points. We have two questions:
1. Is it necessary to bank the 160 points since we will be making the reservations before the points will expire?
2. At the time of reservation we will only have 160 points, does DVC take into account that when the trip takes place we will have the remaining points or would we have to borrow them to complete the reservation?

The whole banking/borrowing thing is based on when the points are actually used, or in other words, when the vacation takes place.

So in your scenario, you would bank your current points, and then make the Jan 09 reservation. You would tell member services that you want to apply your "banked" points first, which would leave you with a total of 100 2009 points. [(160 banked 08 points +160 09 points) - 220 points for the reservation]
