Reservation Question

I need some help. I have a 5 night reservation in September with the free dining plan at Pop Century. I decided that I wanted to add an extra day if possible, so I called the Disney reservations line. After initially being told an extra night was available, I was put on hold and later told that the system was showing "false availability" and that I could not add another night.

I later went online and saw that both Disney's website and Expedia were showing availability for the night I wanted. I tried the reservations line again, but had the same result (said a night was available, but then changed their story).

Any ideas as to why this would happen (online availability but not able to add a night)? Could there be a reason other than availability that would prevent me from adding a night (such as the free dining plan?). What would happen if I simply booked one more night separately? Would that cause any problems (other than maybe having to switch rooms)?

Thanks for your help.

My guess is that it has something to do with the free dining plan. Did you try having them rebook the entire trip (including the extra day) and seeing if it would take the entire trip?

It might be the free dining that's throwing it off. Since you're making a change on a reservation that was made under that offer, the system is probably telling the that rooms are no longer available with that offer. Just a guess....
You could make a seperate reservation for that extra night, but you'll have to check out and check back in again, and I'm assuming you would no longer get the free dining.

The free dining promotion booking window ended already (ended in June, I think?), so you cannot add extra nights now and still get that discount. Your best option, if any rooms are available, is to add the extra night as a separate room-only reservation. If you want to hit the park that day, you are allowed to modify your free dining reservation to add an extra day to your tickets.

What you are hearing is correct. The rooms are available, but they are not available under the package you are currently holding. That special ended and there is no way to adjust your reservation anymore. I would agree with what you were told, book the extra night as a room only if you want to stay longer and just pay for your meals for that extra day....
