Reservation Dilemma

For those who have dined at various Disney Springs restaurants, I have a reservation question. Why is it at some restaurants (that I won't name) you can't get a reservation for 2 people, yet if you say 3 people there are plenty of times? Has anyone booked a 3 person reservation when there are only 2 of you? Just wondering if they make a big deal out of it. Thanks for any help.

Book the 3 and show up with 2. No problem. Are you using OpenTable or MDE? OpenTable has a lot more reservations available at most (not all) of the DS restaurants.

Unfortunately through MDE because the restaurant isn't on Open Table. I think we're just going to book the 3. I don't think we're the only one.

Most restaurants in Disney Springs have more tables for groups of three or more than tables just for two. Once the smaller tables for two are booked, online reservation systems will show nothing available for parties of two. Restaurants don't want to tie up larger tables for just two guests. More people dining equals more money. If a table that seats four is tied up with only two guests, that will show less tables available for larger parties. But as others have said, you shouldn't have a problem booking for three and have only two show up.
